Lumber Jills: The Unsung Heroines of World War II
Written by Alexandra Davis and Illustrated by Katie Hickey

Lyrically told, this is the story of British girls who answered the call when their country needed their help! During World War II, there was a shortage of workers in the lumber industry to make the necessary items to help fight the war so thousands joined the Women's Timber Corps despite having no prior experience. They were determined to learn and succeed, and they did! Their camaraderie and dedication will inspire young readers today to step up and make a difference!
