​​Our Youth Advisory Board meets once per month to discuss and review ARCs (advanced reading copies) of upcoming books. Members read anything from fantasy, to nonfiction, to books in verse. If your middle reader is interested in joining, please let us know!

Carson likes to read fantasy, sci-fi, action, and myths.
He would love to meet Tui T. Sutherland, author of Wings of Fire.​

Nina loves reading and hanging out with dogs. Her favorite books are the Keeper of the Lost Cities series by Shannon Messenger.

Mazzy likes graphic novels and pretty much any type of book.

Sylvan likes fantasy books because it's a break from reality.

Thea loves mysteries and theatrical stories, like Shakespeare. She also likes writing fan fiction for those types of stories. She would like to meet the author of Ranger in Time, Kate Messenger, because her books are really good. (Thea would ask her to write a book where Ranger meets her dog Ginny because they are both red haired Golden Retrievers.)  She would also like to meet Shakespeare.

 Lena enjoys graphic novels and novels with realistic stories about humans and animals. She loves reading about history, especially when it involves conflict or tragedy. She would love to meet Raina Telgemeier.

Augusta enjoys reading fantasy books, because she likes learning about mythical creatures and they have exciting plots. She would love to meet Shannon Messenger, author of Keeper of the Lots Cities series, because they are her favorite books.

On a daily basis, you can find Ada reading, of course, hanging out with her family, or going on explorations outside (also known as hiking, camping, biking, paddling, and reading outside). Ada loves reading middle grade fiction, especially Keeper of the Lost Cities, We Dream of Space, Wildwood, and Song for a Whale (and many many many many more).​

(They/them, 5th grade)

Rocky loves non-fiction because it's easy to research more and write essays about non-fiction. Also she doesn't love to wait for a new book. She would love to meet author Allison Weir who mostly writes about 16th century stories.
