​​Our Youth Advisory Board meets once per month to discuss and review ARCs (advanced reading copies) of upcoming books. Members read anything from fantasy, to nonfiction, to books in verse. If your middle reader is interested in joining, please let us know!

Carson
(he/him, 6th grade)

Carson likes to read fantasy, sci-fi, action, and myths.
He would love to meet Tui T. Sutherland, author of Wings of Fire.​

Penelope
(she/her, 5th grade)

Penelope loves to read a lot of fantasy books, but her favorite author is Jeff Kinney because his books are hilarious.


Mazzy
(she/her, 6th grade)
Mazzy likes graphic novels and pretty much any type of book.

(she/her, 6th grade)

Sylvan likes fantasy books because it's a break from reality.

Thea
(she/her, 5th grade)

Thea loves mysteries and theatrical stories, like Shakespeare. She also likes writing fan fiction for those types of stories. She would like to meet the author of Ranger in Time, Kate Messenger, because her books are really good. (Thea would ask her to write a book where Ranger meets her dog Ginny because they are both red haired Golden Retrievers.)  She would also like to meet Shakespeare.

Lena
(she/they/any 6th grade)

 Lena enjoys graphic novels and novels with realistic stories about humans and animals. She loves reading about history, especially when it involves conflict or tragedy. She would love to meet Raina Telgemeier.

Augusta
(she/her, 6th grade)

Augusta enjoys reading fantasy books, because she likes learning about mythical creatures and they have exciting plots. She would love to meet Shannon Messenger, author of Keeper of the Lots Cities series, because they are her favorite books. 

Elia

Geneva

Geneva loves to read fantasy books because they're interesting, and she'd love to meet author Shannon Messenger so she could hear what Keeper of the Lost Cities #10 will be about.

(They/them, 6th grade)

Rocky loves non-fiction because it's easy to research more and write essays about non-fiction. Also she doesn't love to wait for a new book. She would love to meet author Allison Weir who mostly writes about 16th century stories.

Milo
(he/him, 4th grade)

Milo likes to read adventure books because he loves adventures. He'd love to meet Mac Barnett because of The First Cat in Space Ate Pizza or Tui T Sutherland because Milo loves the Wing of Fire series.

Waverly

Waverly loves to read graphic novels because she reads at night and can finish them before bed.

Jude
(he/him 5th grade)

Jude's favorite types of books to read are fantasy because of the vast worlds and adventures. He also like reading about things that do not exist in our world. He would like to meet Stuart Gibbs because his books are really funny and Jude bets he would be fun to hang out with. 
Mabel
(she/her, 6th grade)
