The Oscars of children's literature is fast approaching- February 2nd, in fact! Prestigious awards will be given out for the Newbery, Sibert, Carnegie, and the Caldecott, which is what we'll be talking about.
The Caldecott Medal was named for Randolph Caldecott, a nineteenth-century English illustrator. It's awarded to the artist of the most distinguished American picture book for children published the prior year.
